Zeta Specialist Lighting scoops an award
Zeta Specialist Lighting, the Bicester-based innovative developer and manufacturer of LED and solar powered lighting solutions, has picked up a prestigious business award.
Zeta fought off strong competition to pick up The Integration Technology Export Award at the Cherwell Valley Business Awards which were held on May 16. The company was also in a shortlist of three in the Business of the Year category.
The Cherwell Business Awards is organised by the Banbury and District Chamber of Commerce, Bicester Chamber of Commerce, Bicester Vision, Cherwell District Council, Ellacotts Accountants, Peepul24, Begbroke Science Park and Spratt Endicott Solicitors.
Managing Director Phil Shadbolt said: “We are delighted to have been recognised at this prestigious business event. The whole of the team has worked really hard to accelerate growth, especially internationally, the export market remains a significant part of our business and we’re on track to triple this part of the business during 2014.”
Earlier this year Zeta received Government grant funding via AMSCI (Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative) for a project value of £5million. The 3 year project with Plessey Semi-Conductors will undoubtedly lead to more advanced, LED technology becoming available and involves large investment in plant and machinery, test equipment, and staff in order to accelerate the business development in LED lighting. Substantial improvements have been made to Zeta headquarters to create a state of the art production area; which in turn will help the drive for export of products manufactured here in Bicester.
Last month Zeta was also awarded a Silver Scoot Headline Award, this prestigious business awards campaign recognises and rewards the successes and achievements of British businesses, large and small.
